Dillington House is committed to doing its very best to meet the needs of all disabled persons. This can be particularly challenging on a listed historic site with changes in levels! The key to a successful visit is to plan ahead and discuss your needs either with us or, if appropriate, your group organiser.
Parking
A number of reserved spaces are allocated in front of the Mews building for Blue
Badge Holders including two wide-parking places for wheelchair users. These
can be reserved in your name on a first-come first-served basis.
Physical Access
Access to the House is via a ramp to the front door. All the public
rooms in the House including the bar are fully accessible to wheelchair
users. Please note that there are currently no wheelchair accessible
toilets in the House. Toilets for wheelchair users are available
in the Mews.
All of the conference and teaching rooms in the Mews are fully accessible to wheelchair users.
Residential Accommodation
There is a fully accessible ground floor en- suite bedroom in the Mews for wheelchair
users. A new development project will, in late 2008, provide
a total of 16 fully accessible en-suite bedrooms.
Hearing Impairment
There are permanently installed hearing-loops in the main conference
rooms plus a facility at Reception. Two portable hearing necklace
and headphone systems are available on request. This technology
works in specific ways. Please discuss your needs with us so
that we can make sure you have the right equipment at your disposal.
Visual Impairment
We are happy to reproduce most documents
in large print. Where
practicable it may also be possible to reproduce certain documents
in Braille or audiotape formats. Please let us know your needs
well in advance.
Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome. Please let us know and we will arrange
a bowl of water!
